Fiery mid-August in Sardinia with temperatures well above 35 degrees and in some cases above 37 due to the effect of the African anticyclone Nerone .

The Arpas control units have detected highs above the seasonal averages of recent years in different parts of the island, even if far from the peaks detected last July. Nearly 38 degrees in Ottana (37.9), 37.3 those recorded in Orani . Thermometer above 36 also in Uras, Bonnanaro, Oschiri, Benetutti, Milis and Ozieri. 35 degrees have been exceeded in several locations.

Sassari the hottest city with a maximum of 34 degrees in Campanedda, in Nuoro and Iglesias 33.1. In Cagliari it ranges from 31 degrees detected by the Pirri control unit to 28.5 at Molentargius .

And in the coming days, according to Meteo.it , the thermometer will rise even higher . From Friday there will be a further escalation of heat, especially in the South, which will reach its peak on the weekend of August 19-20 , when it can even touch and exceed 40 degrees.

In addition to the heat during the day, the heat will arrive in the evening with skyrocketing humidity levels which will further aggravate the physical discomfort. The African anticyclone should last at least until August 23-24 .
