"Fials Sardegna notes, with regret and deep concern, the umpteenth failure to convene the institutional discussions promoted by the Region on issues of significant importance to the regional healthcare system." The healthcare union has sent a letter to the President of the Region, Alessandra Todde, signed by Secretary Loredana Scanu and her deputies, Giampaolo Cugliara and Giampaolo Mascia.
"Despite repeated formal requests for meetings sent to the President of the Region and the relevant bodies, as well as the very recent exclusive participation of CGIL, CISL, and UIL on December 16, 2025—though CGIL and UIL are not signatories to the 2022-2024 healthcare sector contract and therefore not entitled to participate in any institutional meetings," the statement reads, "FIALS has received no response, effectively being excluded from the discussion."
This situation "appears unjustified, considering that Fials is a member of Confsal, the third largest trade union confederation at the national level, as certified by the Cnel, and which represents the union organization with the highest number of registered workers in the healthcare sector in the Region."
At a particularly delicate time for the regional healthcare system, marked by structural issues, staff shortages, and increasing healthcare mobility, FIALS warns, "the failure to involve all representative trade unions risks weakening democratic debate and jeopardizing the effectiveness of institutional decisions."
Fials Sardegna reiterates its "full availability for a fair, transparent, and constructive discussion, aimed exclusively at protecting public health, Regional Health Service workers, and Sardinian citizens."
