Reopen Fenosu airport. The need to get the Oristano airport back into operation was presented this morning during a meeting at Palazzo Campus Colonna. Present were the mayor Massimiliano Sanna, the regional councilor for Transport Antonio Moro, the municipal councilors for Transport and Public Works Ivano Cuccu and Simone Prevete.

«The Fenosu airport is a fundamental infrastructure for this territory and for the whole of Sardinia – explains Sanna -. Over the years, huge public capital has been invested with the aim of offering the territory a strategic project for the economy and tourism of the Oristano area. Today, we have started a discussion with the Region to agree on the actions necessary to understand if there is an interest in restoring the role, tasks and functions to the airport which is currently closed. Thanks to the availability of the regional transport councilor, Antonio Moro, we can resume a shared path for the relaunch of the airport, starting first of all from the involvement of the founding members of the old management company, in Sogeaor. In the coming weeks the discussion will therefore continue with the Province, the Chamber of Commerce, Sfirs and the industrial Consortium".

«It is unacceptable that an infrastructure built with public resources remains effectively closed and without any typical airport activity – highlighted councilor Moro -. It is not necessary to be a transport expert to understand, with a little common sense, how strategic the central position of Oristano is in an integrated regional transport system. The resumption of activities at the Oristano airport would represent a new opportunity for the benefit of the Oristano area and the entire island. The discussions with the Municipality of Oristano and soon with the other founding members, in this sense, will be fundamental to resume an institutional path that puts public policies and the interests of the territories back at the center".
