Salvatore Angius died at the age of 83, known as “Ciarolli”, a worker in the dairy sector, awarded two years ago as “Mandarese of the year”.

An innovator in his work is leaving, an institution for Mandas due to his great commitment to social issues and to the promotion of cultural events linked in particular to the ancient gastronomic traditions of the town of Alta Trexenta. "Where he was there was always joy - remembers the mayor Umberto Oppus -, he taught many of us the way to face everyday life with spirit without ever throwing ourselves down".

Angius is one of those people who will miss the community: in Mandas there are various positions that he has also held in the Council and in the City Council.

Always at the forefront of organizing festivals and initiatives aimed at enhancing the cultural heritage of Mandas, "Ciarolli" had never lost the desire to smile and get busy despite the many health problems that had plagued him especially in recent years .

"He was a sunny person, always ready to make himself available and lend a hand to others", remembers Marco Pisano, the former mayor of Mandas who in 2019 had awarded him the "Citizen of the Year" award.
