He gave a false name to the carabinieri who stopped him for a check. But the identity card he claimed to have lost and his (expired) driving license gave him away.

Result: he was denounced for false attestation of identity to a public official.

The negative protagonist of the story, which took place in Cagliari , is a 49-year-old man , already known to the police.

An Arma patrol stopped him for checks in via Borgo Sant'Elia , while he was aboard a truck.

As mentioned, the man presented himself verbally, claiming to have lost his documents.

During the check, however, his identity card was found in the glove compartment of the vehicle, which however bore a different name and surname.

Not only that: even the licence, no longer valid, bore a different identity.

For this reason the man ended up in trouble, with a double report to the judicial and administrative authorities for the appropriate measures.
