National strike in the environmental hygiene sector: potential disruptions to waste collection in Cagliari. On Friday, October 17, due to the protest called by several environmental hygiene workers' unions, waste collection and street sweeping services may be disrupted throughout the day, both during the day and at night.
Furthermore, the recycling center on Viale Sant'Elia, the recycling center on Via Newton, and the two recycling centers in Piazza Puglia and Via Pisano may not be open . The information center at Viale Ciusa 133 may also not be able to provide customer services, whether in person, by phone, or by email.
The Municipality states that "essential public services pursuant to Law 146/1990 and the national sector agreement of March 1, 2001, such as waste collection and transportation from schools, hospitals, nursing homes, barracks, and markets, will still be guaranteed."
The service provider will ensure that the inconvenience is minimized, but the administration encourages residents to cooperate fully. Waste can be disposed of according to the usual collection schedule, and residents are responsible for returning it to their designated area if it is not collected.
Activities will resume regularly from the early hours of Saturday, October 18th.
