Second in number of crimes and first in number of alleged perpetrators reported. Whether it is because the controls work, or because the ecosystem is not respected, it is not an enviable position in the ranking that Sardinia finds itself occupying in the report by Legambiente and Libera drawn up on the tenth anniversary of the law on eco-crimes and in view of the appointment with "ControEcomafie", the national conference promoted by the two associations, in collaboration with the University of Rome

In Italy, 6,979 crimes were detected from June 2015 to December 2024, with an average of one criminal offense every 3 checks made. Campania is the first region in terms of number of crimes, followed by Sardinia and Puglia. 40.5% of the crimes were detected in the 4 regions "with a traditional mafia presence: Campania, Puglia, Sicily and Calabria". In all of Italy, assets worth 1.155 billion euros were seized.

In detail: primacy for Campania, with 1,440 crimes, 4,178 checks carried out, and 382 seizures for a value of over 209 million euros. Second place for Sardinia with 726 crimes and first for people reported (1,627), "a region already reported as growing also in the overall data of the 2024 Ecomafia report".

In third place is Puglia (540 crimes) which is first, however, for people arrested (100), followed by Lombardy (498 crimes) and Sicily (482), the latter being the first region in terms of economic value of seizures carried out, equal to 432.1 million euros and the second in terms of people reported.
