Emergency birth at the Paolo Dettori hospital in Tempio Pausania, where an emergency caesarean section was performed on a patient who then gave birth to a baby girl weighing almost 2.4 kg.

«The patient – explains a note from the Gallura ASL – entered the department of the health facility at 8.15am and underwent a gynecological examination. The woman was supposed to give birth on December 28th through an operation already scheduled in Olbia, but during this morning's visit the gynecologists at the Tempio Pausania hospital found an almost complete dilation, agreeing on the need to proceed immediately with the surgery in when the baby was in a breech position. The baby was born at 9.11am."

«After approximately four hours of observation and after having ascertained the good state of health of the mother and the newborn – continues ASL Gallura – the transfer by ambulance to the Gynecology and Obstetrics Operating Unit of the Olbia hospital was arranged. The team was made up of two gynaecologists, the anesthetist, the midwife, the room staff, the nurse and the pediatrician."
