Elodie, a princess against the monster: the uncle calls Sardinia to action

Elodie is only six years old, but she has already fought battles that would break anyone. In September 2022, her life turned into a desperate fight against hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS), a very rare and aggressive disease that has put a strain on her young body, affecting her kidneys and compromising vital organs. After three months in intensive care at the Gaslini hospital in Genoa, intubated and undergoing dialysis, Elodie has shown extraordinary strength, continuing to fight against a monster that has given her no respite.

Today, despite the difficulties still being immense, the little girl smiles. But her family, exhausted by the long battle, is on its knees . Lorenzo and Nawel, her parents, have sold everything and left their jobs to guarantee her constant medical care and cutting-edge therapies that, while offering hope of recovery, have exorbitant costs. "Now they are in France for further treatment, but they are scraping the bottom of their last savings," says her uncle Efisio Tronci, originally from Nurri and emigrated to Genoa for years.

Elodie's story also reached the stands of the Ferraris in Genoa, where, during the match between Genoa and Parma, the fans of the Curva Nord displayed a banner that read : "Princesses deserve fairy tales, Elodie defeat the bad guy". Simple words, but full of hope and support, accompanied by the distribution of flyers to raise awareness among the fans and raise funds for the little girl.

Thus, uncle Efisio, moved by the solidarity of Genoa, now turns to his homeland, Sardinia , and to the rossoblù fans, to the Ultras, with a heartfelt appeal: «The Sardinians are a generous people, they know what it means to help. I ask everyone, even the Cagliari fans, to embrace this cause, perhaps by displaying a banner and raising awareness on the Island about Elodie's fight. She only dreams of having a future without monsters, without dragons».

The path for Elodie is not only medical, but also economic and is increasingly tortuous . Cutting-edge rehabilitation therapies, specialist checks and daily care have a very high cost, unsustainable for a family that has already sacrificed everything.
