Elderly man hit on crosswalk in Pirri, in serious condition

Serious road accident in the late afternoon in Pirri , around 6.40 pm.

An elderly man living in Pirri was hit at a pedestrian crossing while crossing Via Riva Villasanta from Via dei Grilli . He was struck by a Citroen turning from Via Calamattia, whose driver immediately stopped to provide assistance.

The injured man's condition is worrying; he suffered severe facial trauma and was admitted to Brotzu Hospital, where he was assigned a red code. Two ambulances were dispatched to the scene to provide emergency medical care. Local police conducted the investigation, also interviewing witnesses to reconstruct the accident.
