Another motorcycle crash . Yet another in recent weeks on the roads of Ogliastra. This time it happened in the Jerzu valley , where a 44-year-old German tourist lost control of his motorcycle and fell to the ground. After sliding on the asphalt, he struck the guardrail in the Barsu area. The impact was violent.

The dynamics of the accident, which occurred around 7pm today, are still unclear, but according to initial findings, the motorcyclist , who was travelling along the former state road 125 between Genna 'e Cresia and Pelau, lost grip on a bend near kilometre 119, ending up on the asphalt.

Rescue efforts were immediate, brought by the motorcycle rider who was traveling on another vehicle and by a man from Jerzu. An ambulance from Jerzu and the Carabinieri arrived on the scene.

The motorcyclist, who remained alert and conscious throughout, was stabilized and transported to Brotzu Hospital in Cagliari aboard Echo Lima 1, the Areus helicopter that took off from its Olbia base. The man's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but he suffered a deep wound to his stomach.
