There was a scare this afternoon in Quartu, near the Musicisti area. For reasons yet to be determined, a car failed to stop at the stop sign and collided with another vehicle traveling in its direction. The incident occurred at the intersection of Via Rossini and Via Monteverdi.

One of the two cars, a Polo, overturned upon impact, crashing into a pole. The driver was rescued and taken to the hospital with a yellow code. Local police officers arrived on the scene and conducted an investigation. They will now determine the exact circumstances and responsibilities, and firefighters will extricate the Polo's driver from the wreckage.

The intersection, regulated by stop signs, is not among the most dangerous in the area, but caution is advised and speed should be maintained. Since it is not considered one of the most high-risk intersections, it is not regulated by double stop signs, as is the case in other areas of the city, such as Via Porcu-Merello, Cagliari-Dante, and Brigata Sassari-Siena. The double stop signs were put in place specifically to encourage drivers to slow down and prevent accidents due to failure to give way.
