Intensified activities tonight by the Cagliari Local Police, which increased checks to prevent and combat driving under the influence of alcohol. The officers stopped 52 vehicles, all regularly insured and inspected, and subjected the drivers to breathalyzer tests. Three were reported for exceeding the legal limits, with values between two and three times higher than the maximum permitted .

Violators will be fined between 800 and 3,200 euros. In addition, their driving licenses will be suspended for a period of between six months and one year , as required by current legislation.

The local police paid particular attention to drivers under 21, newly licensed drivers and transport professionals , because for them the law provides for an absolute ban on driving under the influence of alcohol (limit 0 g/l).
