Comforting signs of recovery for Sardinia struggling with drought.

They come from the latest report from the Anbi Observatory , according to which the rains last March brought over 209 million cubic meters of water into the island's reservoirs, «allowing us to abandon the emergency condition and reach percentages of between 60 % and 70% full".

But - underlines the National Association of Reclamation and Irrigation - there are some exceptions, underlines Anbi: in fact, the basins of the Alto Cixerri territory continue to worry, having reached only 17.35% of the filling.

And obviously, the "anomalous" heat that is being recorded on the island in this month of April is also worrying, with temperatures reaching even 30 degrees.

At a national level, underlines the Anbi, «in March, the warmest ever at a global level, central Italy recorded the greatest thermal anomalies along the country: +1.52° on the 1991-2020 average (per second place among the warmest since 1800), while in the North the positive difference was 1.39° and in the South 1.44°. Analyzing the entire Peninsula instead, the average temperature in the recent December-March period was an all-time record (+2.20° in the north, +2.07 in the centre, +1.87° in the south)".

Currently – continues Anbi – «Abruzzo is the region that appears to be in greatest water distress: a critical situation especially in the Teramo hills».
