Ten million cubic meters of water. This is what the latest rains have brought to the island's dams. «A holy hand for the countryside», says Gavino Zirattu, president of Anbi-Sardegna, the body that brings together all the reclamation bodies. "But as for the stocks in the reservoirs, not much has changed."

The map of the bulletin certified by the Basin Authority - which as of 31 December measured a total of 900 million cubic meters of water in the dams (15 million less than in November), i.e. only half of the authorized volume - remains with all the red and orange flags in place. And heavy water restrictions will be decreed on the side of the region that goes from Sedilo to Porto San Paolo: water only for drinking water users, for watering the animals and cleaning the stables. Stop irrigating the fields, forbidden to water the gardens.

The Posada dam, for example, with less than 3 million cubic meters of water (13% of capacity) in the last few days of clouds has only retained 200 thousand cubic metres, a cup of coffee. Just 500 thousand cubic meters of water, however, in the Cedrino reservoir (which serves the Nuorese territories around Dorgali), and just as little in other basins such as the Taloro.
