Drought and "extreme" heat reduce the quality of life: South Sardinia ranks last in Italy

They are those contained in the report on the "Climatic liveability" of the main Italian cities and provinces prepared by Corriere della Sera in collaboration with iLMeteo.it , which has drawn up the ranking of the places in the Bel Paese where people live better - or worse - depending on the events climate.
In the dossier (which for each of the 108 provincial capitals compared 17 parameters hour after hour, day by day for 24 years, for a total of over 380 million data points ), Cagliari comes in first place in the ranking of the provinces that the more they suffer from Drought, followed by Southern Sardinia. In fifth place is another Sardinian city: Nuoro.
The ranking, it is explained, "considers all periods of drought (precipitation < 1 mm) of at least 14 consecutive days, the total number of days within these periods is added".
Sardinian locations also at the top in terms of Extreme Heat (Southern Sardinia is third), Heat Waves (Olbia is in second place), Sunny Days (Cagliari is fifth) and Temperature Range (Southern Sardinia is first place).
Furthermore, Cagliari is in first place in the ranking of cities characterized by summer breezes and in third place in that of gusts of wind (i.e. the number of days per year with gusts > 40 km/h for at least one hour).
In the national ranking, Imperia stands out for the best climate liveability index, in first place with a value of 999 out of 1000, followed by Biella (991/1000) and Agrigento (982/1000).
Cagliari instead places itself in 25th place overall (with an index of 727/1000), Nuoro is 42nd (659/1000), Sassari 64th (564/1000) and Olbia 74th (527/1000). Southern Sardinia is relegated to the rear, in 105th place with a climate liveability index of 57/1000.
As for the two large Italian metropolises, at a national level Milan is only 77th (510/1000) and Rome even 93rd (374/1000).
