Illegal construction on the dunes overlooking the sea in Castiadas: seizure triggered

The Cagliari Coast Guard conducted a raid on the Castiadas coastline, where they discovered unauthorized structures on a state-owned maritime property. Seals were placed on a 127-square-meter perimeter, and a complaint was filed for unauthorized occupation.

In particular, the Coast Guard reported, the inspection highlighted illegal occupation in a stretch of sand dunes , an area that enjoys particular environmental and landscape protection.

According to the Coast Guard, bathing equipment had been placed in the area, and a permanently positioned wooden structure intended for customer service and reception activities had been placed near a bar kiosk.

"The presence of these structures and equipment," a statement reads, "removed space from free and public use and impacted the natural and landscape structure of the coastal strip, affecting an environment of particular value and sensitivity."

This is not an isolated case. During the inspections, violations of the regulations governing the use of state maritime property were also discovered against other individuals, resulting in the imposition of seven administrative fines totaling €7,000.
