Five driving licenses withdrawn in a few hours in Nuoro and its province during a control activity on the main road routes in the area conducted by the Traffic Police to prevent the so-called "Saturday night massacres".

Saying goodbye to their driving license were four men and a woman, aged between 27 and 60, who tested positive for alcohol.

One of them was also positive for drugs, so even harsher measures were taken for him.

Overall, over the course of the last weekend, the Nuoro traffic police officers deducted 85 driving license points, detecting a total of 13 infringements between driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding.

«The objective of the patrolling services carried out daily – explains a note from the Police Headquarters – is always to increase safety levels on the roads and reduce the number of victims from road accidents».
