Domusnovas, fire in the reeds: flames threaten a house
To stop the fire, the residents use water from a pipeline, which however melts: dry taps in the area
There were moments of apprehension in Domusnovas due to a fire that broke out just before 7pm in a large reed bed on the outskirts of the town.
Immediately very high flames those probably started from the roadside (it is suspected that they were triggered by the launch of a cigarette butt) in one of the initial sections of provincial 87.
While waiting for the firefighters, some people intervened by operating a water pipeline on the roadside and limiting the fire front, which risked reaching a house near the reeds. The arrival of the Iglesias firefighters did the rest, with the fire extinguishing operations going on for about 40 minutes.
Unfortunately, however , the use of the water pipeline (whose plexiglass pipes were immediately melted by the heat) left some houses and businesses in the area without water, as well as the entire craft area of the town. The mayor of Domusnovas Isangela Mascia is also present on the spot, committed to finding a solution for the restoration of the water service.
