Zoro was an Argentine Dogo. He was eight years old. They killed him, abandoning the carcass in a reed thicket near the cemetery in Viale Santa Chiara. The most accepted hypothesis is that he was shot twice on the left side of the shoulder. But there is still some doubt about the method of execution, which will be resolved only after the assessment entrusted to the veterinarian in charge.

The fact is that the case is being investigated by officers from the Tortolì police station, led by manager Fabrizio Figliola, who intervened on site together with local police officers. The carcass was seized.

The story

Zoro stayed on land opposite the Hotel Institute. His owners had set up a shelter where he spent his days. He was always tied up, like at 4 in the morning a few days ago. «Everything was in order», says the owner, Alessandra Fioravanti. After two hours the woman returned to Viale Santa Chiara and did not find the animal. «We searched far and wide for him, without finding him. Until, passing with my son at ground level, we smelled it. Zoro was lifeless in a reeds." How the dog died remains to be ascertained. “He had two holes under his shoulder,” says the woman, who went to the police station to file a complaint.

The investigations

Tortolì forensic police personnel conducted an inspection on site. The officers ordered the immediate seizure of the carcass which, again yesterday morning, was subjected to an appraisal, also because from an initial check it would not have been easy to establish the exact cause of death. "Whoever knows something, please tell us", is the owner's appeal.
