Driving the service vehicle, he was crossing State Road 131 when , near Sardara, he noticed the presence of a dog which was injured and in obvious difficulty on the side of the road, beyond the guardrail .

So Giacomo Toro, roadman of Anas , didn't think twice. He secured the vehicle, made sure that neither passing cars nor the animal were at any risk and set about rescuing the dog .

He initially checked his condition, then made him drink and alerted the police. The rescuers intervened immediately: the veterinary staff provided initial treatment to the dog and brought him to safety .
