Divers missing in the Gulf of Asinara: searches suspended
The strong wind and the rough sea prevent the continuation of the activities, while monitoring continues on the coast between Stintino and Porto Torres

In the late afternoon of today, the search for Giovannino Pinna and Davide Calvia , the two divers aged 38 and 35 who have been missing since yesterday evening in the sea of the Gulf of Asinara, was suspended. The adverse weather conditions – stormy winds and rough seas – do not allow safety conditions for navigation operations.
However, the Port Authority of Porto Torres will continue to monitor the coasts.
The searches have been going on since yesterday with patrol boats and helicopters along the entire stretch of sea that extends from Stintino to Isola Rossa, but have so far yielded no results.
Neither the two divers, nor traces of the boat or other equipment were sighted. As soon as the weather conditions permit, activities at sea with the patrol boats will also resume.
