Carabinieri from the RIS (Investigative Unit) of Cagliari conducted an inspection of the Tuvixeddu Canyon, where Manuela Murgia 's lifeless body was found in 1995. The inspection was part of the new investigation into the young woman's death.

To allow for the on-site inspection—which would be useful for seeking clues and evidence—preliminary hearing judge Giorgio Altieri has been asked to extend the deadline for submitting the expert report on the girl's clothing. During the new on-site investigation , soil and vegetation samples will likely be taken to compare with the results obtained.

The only suspect remains the girl's ex-boyfriend, now 54 years old.
