Drunk and with an expired license: the driver of the Ape 50 believed to be responsible for the road homicide of Cristian Martinez, the 15-year-old boy who died in Alghero in an accident on Via Ungias, ten meters from his home, last September 25, is now under house arrest.
Cristian was returning on his scooter after basketball practice when, at a bend in the road, he was unable to avoid an Ape car driven by a man from Alghero, who was driving in the opposite direction.
At the conclusion of the investigations, the Carabinieri of the Alghero Company executed the order for the application of the precautionary measure of house arrest, issued by the investigating judge at the Court of Sassari, against the man who was driving the moped, despite not having a driving license as it had never been renewed since its expiry in 2017 and, moreover, in a state of alcohol intoxication, with levels four times higher than those permitted.
