A 52-year-old lorry driver from Villacidro, stopped driving a Peugeot, had 1.95 grams of alcohol for every liter of blood: he exceeded the legal threshold by almost four times. He is only one of the five reported, with obvious withdrawal of his licence, as part of the checks carried out last night in Guspini, Arbus and Villacidro (precisely) by the carabinieri of the radiomobile operations unit of the carabinieri company in the area, supported by colleagues from the various stations centers. The objective was to combat drunk driving, also in light of the numerous fatal accidents being recorded on Sardinian roads.   A total of 109 vehicles were stopped and 150 people identified.

The lorry driver recorded the record of the evening on the breathalyzer. But just barely. Because the test result of a 50-year-old unemployed man from the country, who was driving a Panda, "stopped" at 1.93 . A 50-year-old artisan fellow villager, driving a BMW, tested positive with a blood alcohol level of 1.38. Outcome 1.42 for a 56-year-old farmer from Guspini , who was on board a Ford Transit. While in Arbus a 26-year-old worker got into trouble: he was driving a Panda and the breathalyzer showed 1.51.

As part of the checks, a 42-year-old worker from Guspini and a peer from Villacidro were also notified to the Prefecture for drug consumption: they had small quantities of drugs.
