Oristano Port Authority personnel fined a beach resort in Is Arenas, in the Cuglieri area, for not providing a lifeguard service.
The discovery was made during an inspection as part of the “Safe Sea and Lakes 2025” operation.
At the time of the inspection, the facility, which is open and frequented by several bathers, was not attended by lifeguards.
For this reason, the owner of the establishment was given the required administrative fine of 1,032 euros.
"Only later," a note from the Coast Guard explains, "and after a specific warning from the inspectors to reactivate the service, was the lifeguard sent to his post."
The Oristano Port Authority – Coast Guard itself highlights that since the start of the 2025 summer season along the Oristano coast, this is already the fourth beach resort caught operating without a lifeguard.
