Fatal accident this morning on the state road 672 Sassari-Tempio, at km 13,200 in the municipality of Chiaramonti: two Fiat Pandas were involved in a violent head-on collision.
The victim was Domenico Casula, 48, from Santa Teresa di Gallura. The other driver, 58, was transferred to intensive care in Sassari aboard an Areus helicopter.
The road is temporarily closed to traffic, in both directions, with a diversion onto the Chiaramonti municipal road system.
The causes of the accident could be connected to high speed . In addition to the helicopter rescue, the Anas teams, the basic vehicle of Perfugas, the medicalized 118 of Ozieri and the police forces (Carabinieri of Tempio, Perfugas and Codrongianos) were present to manage the traffic in complete safety and allow the reopening of the road in a short time.
