The drugs arrived by mail from Spain. But the Guardia di Finanza officers, based in Olbia, also knew about it. They waited for the package to be delivered and arrested the actual recipient: a twenty-seven-year-old from Olbia, now charged with possession with intent to distribute narcotics.

The operation that led to the seizure of two kilos of hashish and a small quantity of cocaine was triggered by investigations into the flow of postal shipments through various carriers serving the city. The attention of the financial police was drawn to a package originating from Spain: the recipient turned out to be fictitious.

The stakeout outside the delivery point, in downtown Olbia, paid off: the actual recipient was the twenty-seven-year-old, who, when questioned by the officers, immediately appeared visibly agitated. The officers opened the package: inside were twenty blocks of hashish, each weighing 100 grams.

A subsequent house search uncovered approximately 5.5 grams of marijuana and 12 grams of cocaine, divided into doses for sale. Various packaging materials, two precision scales, and a cutting agent were also found.

The substance, if released on the market, would have generated profits estimated at around 25,000 euros, allowing for the production of over 2,000 doses.
