The curve of coronavirus infections in Sardinia goes back up again , even if slightly. According to data from the Gimbe Foundation, in the week between 3 and 9 February there was a worsening of the incidence per 100,000 inhabitants (from 49.1 to 61.9) and an increase in new cases of 25.9 percent compared to the previous week.

The greatest increase, almost 100 percent (91.5) in the Sassari area where the incidence is 66 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, and also in Southern Sardinia with a double increase (51%) compared to the previous survey. In this case, however, the incidence (43 cases per 100,000 inhabitants) must be noted, which is the lowest on the island.

In the lead, however, the metropolitan city of Cagliari with 75 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants and no change compared to the previous week.

Following Sassari, then Oristano 59 (-1.1% compared to the previous week) and Nuoro 54 (+1.9% compared to the previous week).

The number of beds in the medical area (9.7%) occupied by Covid-19 patients is still above the national average, while the number of beds in intensive care (1%) is below the national average .

As far as the vaccination campaign is concerned, the slowdown is confirmed: the percentage of the over 5 year old population who has not received any vaccine dose is 11.6% (national average 11.1%) to which must be added the over 5 population years temporarily protected, as recovered from the virus for less than 180 days, equal to 0.5%.

The over 5s who have not received the third dose are 15.4% (Italian average 12.4%) to which must be added the healed for less than 120 days, who cannot receive the third dose immediately, equal to 2 ,1%.

Finally, the vaccination coverage rate with the fourth dose is 22.4% (national average 31%) with a 0.1% increase compared to last week, while the vaccination coverage rate with the fifth dose is 10.3% (Italian average 14.5%), 0.3% more.

The percentage of children who have completed the vaccination cycle does not change: 41.8% (Italian average 35.3%) to add a further 4.5% (Italian average 3.2%) with only the first dose.
