The Region calls on airlines to comply with the ministerial decree that regulates the public service obligation on routes in territorial continuity.
In fact, the Department of Transport continues to receive reports from users of non-compliance contested by Aeroitalia, Ita Airways and Volotea .
"In these days - Councilor Barbara Manca specified today - we are in daily contact with the carriers to promptly notify any malfunctions and ensure that they are resolved in a timely manner ". "In these weeks - Manca specifies - we have sent precise formal notes with an invitation to comply with individual aspects to be modified or implemented".
Among the reported “failures”, the fact that “ passengers must be authorized to benefit from the rates for residents or workers by means of a simple self-certification of their respective statuses”, and not therefore through the presentation of a specific document as repeatedly reported by users left stranded because they do not have one.
And again, " users with a discounted rate must have the possibility of obtaining a ticket change or refund up until the moment of departure ." Carriers must then " allow the distribution of tickets and changes to reservations also with the specific systems of the networks used by agencies, keeping the dedicated call center active during the entire flight operating hours, seven days a week." And again, "the company that had made a commitment, in the technical offer presented, to offer a 10% discount to passengers with disabilities and their companions, was asked to apply the reduction in the cost of the ticket."
"It is important to underline - the councilor specifies - that the commitments signed during the offer are binding for all intents and purposes after the award of the connection ".
The companies were then asked to "be more transparent in indicating, on booking sites and apps, the categories of beneficiaries of the discounted rate ".
"Territorial continuity is a right of the Sardinians and an essential tool for the integration of our island with the rest of the country. We will not tolerate disservices that put the mobility of citizens and businesses at risk ", continued Councilor Manca.
"Thanks to the constant dialogue with Aeroitalia, Ita Airways and Volotea, and to the timely reference to the contractual obligations provided by the OSP (Public Service Obligations), the Region is committed to ensuring that the service progressively improves, responding to the needs of the territory", the conclusion, with the invitation to "citizens to continue to report any critical issues. Every contribution is precious to make the service more efficient and in line with the expectations of those who travel".
