Exchange of ideas and discussion on the strategies, training and role that small and medium-sized enterprises in Sardinia play every day to make the region progress. These are the ingredients of the convention organized yesterday at the Horse Country Resort Congress in Arborea, by Confapi Sardegna, to celebrate the first 50 years since its foundation. «The role of economic Sardinia in post Pnrr Italy», is the title chosen to outline the day's work divided into two sessions.

The number of Confapi members in Sardinia decreases, but the turnover increases. From 2013 to 2022, the number of businesses increased from 1188 to 984. This could indicate a drop in membership or a change in the structure of the entities operating on the island. Nonetheless, Confapi Sardegna's turnover rose from 270 million euros in 2013 to 371 million in 2022.

The product categories represented include: construction, engineering, agri-food, tourism and services. According to the national president of Confapi, Cristian Camisa, «Sardinia's geographical position requires today, as never before, infrastructural interventions and the implementation of systemic industrial policies. But it also represents a fundamental asset, a crossroads of the Mediterranean, a logistically strategic outpost as well. Sardinia, thanks to its morphology, must aim to be a valid example of a green region and of environmental sustainability: a renewable island and locomotive of that twin transition in which we are engaged in the front row with our businesses. Here universities, institutions and companies can work together, and they are already doing so with excellent results with the contribution of Confapi Sardegna, towards a sustainable use of new technologies also applied to tourism".

«It is a moment of fundamental importance for Confapi and for the Sardinian economic world, a phase in which the crisis of past years seems to have been overcome: we are approaching great challenges certainly linked to the Pnrr. It is an opportunity for the redemption of the island companies, which have suffered major setbacks in recent years and also recently, above all due to the pandemic where we have suffered more than in other regions», observed the president of Confapi Sardegna, Giorgio Delpiano, « now, everything must be staked on a different business model, that of SMEs, which can create wealth and develop an endogenous economy capable of being the basis for the recovery and redemption of businesses after difficult years».
