«While we respect the TAR's decision, we do not agree and we will not stop ». A sentence that does not want to ignite controversy, the one published on a Facebook post by the Florio bar in Piazza San Domenico in Cagliari, but which suggests the desire for redemption and revenge , after a battle started last June against the Municipality . The spark that set off the powder keg was a local police report accusing the owners of "the use of an electro-acoustic system for sound amplification of musical pieces, managed by DJs, in the absence of a valid qualification". And again, according to what was written by the agents, on site «music was produced and broadcast via a console. The equipment was installed inside the venue and the music was propagated from inside to outside, audible in the public street as the entrance door was permanently open." Translated: the music - from the bar - could also be heard outside , on the street. And this, by regulation, is not allowed.

Expected sanction : stop at the tables in the square for 30 days , in the middle of the summer season. The suspension of the concession was then blocked. But - despite this first victory - the TAR agreed with the Municipality. And the owners don't agree : «The disagreement lies first of all in the different evaluation of the facts and for this reason we will continue to support the reasons of Bar Florio in the appropriate forums, to protect our work, our good faith and our employees. We have entrusted ourselves to the work of excellent lawyers who continue to have our trust. The disagreement also lies in the idea of the city that we carry within us: we believe that the coexistence of the different needs of citizens is undoubtedly the biggest challenge in living common spaces, but also the most rewarding when carried out through listening and compromise ».

«We think – continues the post – that having contributed to reviving a part of Cagliari, together with the other activities and all the people who lived in the square with us, was an added value for everyone. Nobody excluded. We know we did it by always trying to respect the rules, even when they became unclear ."

Finally the proposal: «We cannot therefore help but ask ourselves today what all those citizens, cultural operators, municipal administrators, shopkeepers and in general anyone who has experienced the Bar Florio with us in the last ten years think. We would like to discuss this, rather than the individual cards; but we decided we didn't want to do it on social media and for this reason we closed the comments. We look forward to seeing you live, in the square, from tomorrow Friday 24 November and for as long as it is possible to be there ."
