"Cagliari needs a new story, one that's not exclusively tied to the sea. A story that tourists, Erasmus students, and the young people who participate in Intercultura projects can also tell." For this, " the creativity and commitment of everyone is needed."
Thus the mayor Massimo Zedda , in a long post on Facebook entitled: «Cagliari, a new story» , where some objectives are presented and above all the “vision” for the city of the near future.
"During the meeting organized by Fipe Confcommercio Sud Sardegna, together with the business community, as an administration we shared institutional discussions on the noise abatement plan, the regulations governing the occupation of public land, and urban decorum and cleanliness," Zedda explains. He adds: "Regarding this, we agreed that, for the violation of displaying bins at inappropriate times, the penalty introduced by the previous administration —closure of the premises—should be replaced with a fine , given that it is in the city's interest for businesses to generate income and employment and to remain open as a vital part of the local community."
"Cagliari," the mayor continued, "must develop in every possible direction, thanks to the new entrepreneurial opportunities on the sea : nautical, recreational, shipbuilding, hospitality, food and wine production, conference-related events, sports, culture and entertainment, technological innovation, and research."
And again: "Regarding major events, together with the Region, the idea is to include Cagliari in the international tour circuit during the months outside the summer season . In 2029, new opportunities could arise for a concert venue (for more than 20,000 people) located between the Sabaudo pier and the Rinascita pier, thanks to the fruitful relationship with the Port Authority. These concerts will also be hosted in the new Stadium, the Sports Hall, the Amphitheater, and other areas we are currently defining . In addition to the Municipality's activities, there will be those proposed by city operators, respecting noise emissions and residents."
Finally, Zedda also speaks of "Cagliari as a tourist destination: the new call for proposals for air traffic continuity offers us positive prospects . Several significant investments are underway in the hospitality sector with new facilities. The non-hotel sector," the mayor concludes, "is another opportunity to connect and connect with the people who choose to visit the city."
