After the collapse of the roof of the Egis building in Fertilia, the Sardinia Region, owner of part of the condominium, is trying to clarify matters, as far as it is responsible . Following the collapse of the roof, in the building on via Cherso, the Region, through the State Property and Heritage Service of Sassari and Olbia Tempio, "after having requested its formal constitution, has always taken part in the condominium meetings of this building partly owned by private citizens", we read in a note. "During the meetings, it expressed a favorable vote on the proposals for extraordinary maintenance of the roof, guaranteeing coverage of the costs for its part. These actions, however, were not sufficient for the condominium assembly, the only one legally competent to decide and provide for the matter, to approve the works", the regional offices reported.
The collapse was followed by a detailed inspection by the Authority's technicians and today a new meeting was held to make a final decision on the works, also to allow those who had to abandon the building as a precaution to regain possession of the premises. "The attention of the Region and its technicians for the heritage has not waned, despite the difficulties due to the quantity, variety and dispersion of the buildings", they assure the Department of Local Authorities.
«In the Regional Development Plan approved in January of this year we have provided over 8 million euros for framework agreements for interventions aimed at the maintenance, redevelopment and safety of the regional real estate assets – declares Councilor Spanedda – to clarify the intent of this administration to manage previous situations due to the antiquity of the buildings».
