«A dramatic hearing at times but I believe it laid an important cornerstone on the reconstruction of what happened». Thus Giulia Bongiorno, lawyer of the main accuser of Ciro Grillo and his three friends Francesco Corsiglia, Vittorio Lauria and Edoardo Capitta on trial in Tempio Pausania on charges of group sexual violence.

The reference is to the hearing of the friend of the alleged victim of the rape, which allegedly took place in a villa in Porto Cervo in the summer of 2019, called to testify in the courtroom.

The young woman who reported the gang violence was also present in court, but at the time of her friend's testimony she was taken out of the courtroom in compliance with the procedural rules, which prohibit a witness from attending the hearing of another witness. .

After the deposition of the friend of the main accuser, Bongiorno underlined: «For the first time we had the reconstruction from the voice of one of the protagonists and for the first time the court was able to see, and not read in the newspapers, the pain and suffering of these girls."

Returning to the hearing, the testimony of the alleged victim's friend was interrupted several times due to the witness's extremely shaken state of mind.

From what was reported (the hearing took place behind closed doors) the young woman explained that following the affair she was forced to change her habits, also due to media pressure.

Furthermore, she confirmed that on the night of the alleged rape she was sleeping and that she had not seen anything, but that she had woken up several times and that she had also asked her friend why she was crying.

The same friend would only tell her about the violence later.

Once the prosecutor's examination was completed, the cross-examination of Corsiglia's defender, the lawyer Antonella Cuccureddu, began.

The other defenders will be cross-examined at the next hearing.
