According to the first findings of the coroner , the thirteen year old would have been injured with more than twenty stab wounds (inflicted with a box cutter) in the abdomen, then would have been strangled with a cable from the mobile phone charger.

From the first reconstruction of the agents of the Flying Squad, led by the deputy commissioner Samuele Cabizzosu, it would seem that Chiara tried to defend herself, as confirmed by the wounds in her hands and the disorder in the bathroom where there seems to have been a fight (all the rest of the house is instead in perfect order) and where father Pi later found his lifeless daughter. In the meantime, the results of the autopsy are awaited, which the coroner Roberto Demontis will perform on Tuesday at the Monserrato Polyclinic.

The 52-year-old woman is still hospitalized in psychiatry at the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari, in the five-meter flight when she tried to take her own life, she suffered a head injury and a fractured pelvis (not life threatening) .
