The prosecutor of Cagliari Emanuele Secci asked for the indictment of a 52-year-old from Pula who is being held responsible for the death of Christian Urru , the victim of a tragic road accident which took place in August 2018 at km 29 of the 195 state road.
The same request was made for two Anas officials, the person in charge of the testing procedure and the director of the works commissioned to a company for the "review" of the road markings, "with particular reference to the double continuous line that had to be present (also ) in that stretch of road in front of the petrol station, and which instead was dashed or, better, had been made dashed ".
The dynamics of the accident were reconstructed by Francesco Marongiu, the technical consultant to whom the prosecutor entrusted the kinematic survey to ascertain the dynamics, causes and responsibilities. The engineer Stefano Ferrigno also participated in the appraisals, made available as a consultant by Studio3A-Valore SpA, a company specialized at national level in compensation for damages and in the protection of citizens' rights to which Urru's family members turned to be assisted.
According to the reconstruction endorsed by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the motorist, who proceeded from Cagliari to Teulada, "is accused of having made a left turn maneuver to enter the petrol station just as the Ducati Monster 600 of Urru arrived in the opposite direction, which the 52-year-old should have given priority ".
But, as mentioned, the accident was also caused by defects in the road markings.
The investigating judge of the Court of Cagliari, Maria Cristina Elisabetta Ornano, has set the preliminary hearing of the trial for 20 June 2022.
