Yesterday evening, the Carabinieri of Castiadas, with the support of their colleagues from the Villasimius station, arrested a 27-year-old originally from Tuscany, resident in Muravera .

The man, unemployed and already known to the police, was held responsible for aggravated theft, damage and possession of weapons or objects capable of causing offence .

The intervention was prompted by information provided by the operations center, which had called for a search for an Iveco Daily van. The vehicle, with the young man driving, was intercepted and stopped along Provincial Road 18, near the entrance to Cala Sinzias.

Once the vehicle was stopped, the officers conducted a personal search, which led to the discovery of a fishing knife with a rubber handle and a broken blade, which was immediately seized.

The van, which was found to be uninsured , was seized and placed in judicial custody of the user. The young man was placed under house arrest .
