In the last few days, the Department of Public Works of the Region, with the Directorate General of Public Works, has approved the documents of the executive project for important works to improve efficiency in the tourist port . Among the most eagerly awaited and most urgent interventions is the replacement of the pedestrian bridge over the canal connecting with the Rio Frigiano.

The bridge, built in 2006-07, in laminated wood, is in fact decidedly degraded , so much so that it had been necessary to close it to public transit since 2018. After the approval of the executive project in 2021, for an amount of around 187 thousand euros , the tender procedures, as many as three, carried out in the years 2022 and 2023, were deserted due to further increases due to the particular international economic situation due to the war in Ukraine, the pandemic events (Covid19) and the large demand for building materials for the Super Bonus 110%.

Green light also for the renovation of the industrial concrete flooring of the road inside the port , which develops, starting from the eastern quay, along all the service structures connected to the port. Interventions also on the lighting systems. Finally, the reinforced concrete retaining wall, positioned along the access road to the marina, will also be restored, which has numerous deteriorated portions, characterized by the expulsion of the concrete cover and by evident corrosion and oxidation phenomena of the steel reinforcing bars.

«It is an important step, taken in synergy with the councilorship and the regional offices of public works», underlines the mayor Antonio Capula , «but thanks to constant contacts and the collaboration of the regional body, we have arrived at the approval of important projects , stopped for some time due to the excessive rise in the prices of raw materials, due to the delicate international economic situation».
