The conditions of the two wounded involved in the tragic accident that cost the life of 65-year-old Antonio Luigi Pinna, a bricklayer originally from Torpè and residing in Sorso, are improving.

It happened on Wednesday morning, shortly after 7, on the provincial road 90, the fast-flowing road that leads from the junction for the Castelsardo coast to Santa Teresa di Gallura.

The collision with a Gesenu Ambiente garbage truck was fatal which, after breaking the drive shaft of the engine and the brakes, ended up in the middle of the roadway impacting two cars arriving from the opposite direction.

A Megane Renault ended up in the escarpment after the collision.

The 65-year-old driver was killed instantly, while the man aboard the Nissan Micran was slightly injured.

He was transported to the Sassari civil hospital for checks.

The driver of the urban hygiene vehicle, also a resident of Sorso and transported in red code aboard the helicopter rescue service at Santissima Annunziata, was in shock.

He suffered some bruises, but his conditions do not give cause for concern.
