The road reopens four days earlier than expected. But the opposition attacks: "The artery is a battlefield"
The works along the SS 126 South Western Sarda road were concluded in advance in the stretch from km 13 + 600 to km 14 + 800 which on February 14 was closed to traffic in both directions. From tomorrow, 23 February, it will be reopened: 4 days before the scheduled times.
"Although access to the road was guaranteed to residents, companies present and their customers and service owners - says Stefano Mascia, councilor for public works of Carbonia -, every effort was made to reduce the timing as much as possible and avoid further inconvenience to citizens ".
The Olimpia Costruzioni company has completed the first phase of the construction of the cycle / pedestrian overpass which will become part of the "Santa Barbara mining trail". The second phase involves the positioning of the metal structure.
The council group "Carbonia Avanti" has put in place a garrison right on the state road, near the Is Gannaus roundabout, to report the state of instability and abandonment of the road. "Last night, in this regard, we also sent a letter to the prefect - they explain - to denounce a situation that has now become unsustainable, to the point of seriously endangering the safety of any motorist who transits that road. We expect Anas to intervene immediately and restore the state road 126 guaranteeing standards ".
