Dramatic testimony in recent days in court in Sassari. It is the alleged victim of sexual violence from Sassari who tells what happened to her, also shedding light on a scenario of degradation and marginalization that is mostly unknown.
"In 2017," the woman reported in front of the panel chaired by Monia Adami, with Valentina Nuvoli and Paolo Bulla at her sides, "I lived in a tent in the warehouse on Via XXV Aprile with my partner and a friend."
An area a stone's throw from the station where people live without a roof over their heads and without essential services. The three are not far away and the friend asks the injured party in the trial to take her bag left in the tent. "It was 3 in the morning. When I arrived, this person appeared. He said to me: Hi sister, what do you want me to do to you?".
At that point the woman, answering the questions of the prosecutor Angelo Beccu, recalls the episode. «He tore my shirt throwing me to the ground, touching my breasts and legs». The supposed violence does not go all the way because of the woman's reaction, this is her version, who manages to escape. «But he threw stones at me. I was covered in bruises».
Then the immediate complaint and the trip to the emergency room where she was treated. "I had a large hematoma on my head due to how he made me fall," she recalls during a hearing interrupted several times due to the emotional state of the witness.
The alleged perpetrator of the violence is said to be an Ivorian, present in the courtroom, and defended by the lawyer Raffaele Rocco. The lawyer himself found the woman's account not credible. The trial was postponed to December.
