Eleven fires that today the Forestry and Environmental Protection Corps of Sardinia had to manage on the territory, with the help of regional and national air vehicles.

The most serious cases were in Zerfaliu, Escola and Giave.

In Zerfaliu along the provincial road 9 the fire initially affected an agricultural area and then spread towards eucalyptus windbreaks. The operations were coordinated by the Oristano Forestry Station, supported by the GAUF CFVA Nucleus of Oristano. The EC 225 Superpuma helicopter also intervened on site, taking off from the Fenosu base. A team from the Forestas Agency of Zeddiani, the Oristano Fire Brigade and the Volunteers Soc. Centrale of Oristano operated on the ground. The intervention of the Superpuma was decisive.

In Escolca in the "M.za Rialli" area, the fire that immediately affected a wooded area required a huge deployment of resources and men. The Isili Forestry Station coordinated the operations, supported by AS 350 Ecureil, EC 225 Superpuma and AB 412 helicopters, which took off from the Villasalto, Fenosu and Sorgono bases respectively. Given the rapid expansion of the flames, the Cagliari COP also requested the intervention of a Canadair from Olbia, and an Air Force A 500AM helicopter and an army helicopter were called in. The ground teams include specialists from the Cagliari Forestry Corps' GAUF, two teams from the Forestas Agency (Monte Simudis di Isili and Villanovatulo), three teams from the Fire Brigade (Mandas, Sorgono and Ales) and the Civil Protection Volunteers from Guasila and Isili "Sarcidano".

Large fire in the countryside of Giave , in the Campo Giavesu area, along the 131 which was temporarily blocked due to the flames that are licking the road and threatening the farms. The fire broke out shortly before 4 pm and is making it difficult for the firefighters of Sassari to put it out, who have asked for support from the Forestry Corps and other firefighting forces. Two Forestry helicopters and a Canadair from the Olbia base are operating on site. In the meantime, the fire is causing traffic problems with long queues of cars.
