Tziu Licu, born Emanuele Vacca , turned 100 today , the oldest in the hamlet of Sirri where he has lived since birth. Surrounded by the affection of his family and the inhabitants of the village , he blew out the 100 candles in the presence of the only 2 brothers still alive (one sister was unable to join him): «I didn't expect to reach this goal – said Licu – I didn't I've never had such a big party."

After his father's death, which occurred when he was still a minor, Licu also had to look after his brothers who are now over eighty and still grateful to him: «When we were little he looked after us – says his brother Vittorio – today we are the ones who lend a hand to him when needed but he is still very autonomous ."

On beautiful sunny days he does not fail to take care of the small land adjacent to the house where he grows vegetables and is always ready to give advice to the younger ones, with whom he loves to have long chats from the inevitable chair positioned at the door of the house from which he the possibility of greeting passers-by. For the important occasion he received a visit from the mayor Pietro Morittu who honored him with a parchment of good wishes from the administration.
