Carbonia in mourning: Sara Pau, the fighter, has died
A university researcher, she was 38 years old: already president of a neighborhood committee, she should have joined the city council

The death of Sara Pau, which occurred at the age of 38, following an illness, is causing deep condolences in Carbonia.
She was a popular university researcher and some time ago she had also held the role of president of the neighborhood committee of Is Gannaus, a small hamlet on the southern outskirts of the city where she herself lived and for which she always fought with her polite and elegant ways.
She was recently supposed to join the municipal council in Carbonia in place of the elected regional councilor Luca Pizzuto, but she had opted for a different choice.
The funeral will take place tomorrow 7 June at 3pm in the church of San Ponziano in Piazza Roma, in Carbonia. The administration and city council also expressed condolences on behalf of the city.
