"Two wonderful years in a land of history, culture, and character. And thanks to the daily work of all the Carabinieri, we have achieved significant results in the fight against drug trafficking and criminal activity." With these words, the outgoing regional commander of the force, Major General Stefano Iasson, handed over his duties to his successor, Brigadier General Francesco Rizzo.

The ceremony took place in the Zuddas barracks on Via a Sonnino in Cagliari in the presence of the Interregional Carabinieri Commander Podgora, Army Corps General Aldo Iacobelli, and in front of the main civil, military and religious authorities of the Region, and a representation of the various components of the force operating in Sardinia.

Iasson thanked everyone for their great cooperation, highlighting the Carabinieri's role in Sardinia as a "reliable point of reference throughout the region." The Legion's new commander expressed his readiness for this important role, having previously served as deputy commander of the Lazio Legion.
