Capoterra, protests over the roundabout on Provincial Road 91: "Narrow and dangerous."

The worst thing that can happen is for two trucks to travel on it at the same time. That's when the roundabout on Provincial Road 91 , a crossroads for the section of the new State Road 195 inaugurated two summers ago, demonstrates all its structural limitations.
The long-awaited final section of the Sulcitana, which leads directly onto the Macchiareddu consortium, is expected to be inaugurated by next summer, but in the meantime, the provincial artery is carrying a heavy traffic load, with the crucial point being a truly narrow roundabout.
From the minority benches, former mayor Francesco Dessì identifies the intersection with the new Sulcitana as the most dangerous section of the route currently managed by the Metropolitan City: "Cars struggle to travel safely there, let alone how often they do when one or more trucks cross it. The limitations of this project are evident. If you then consider that after two years it still hasn't been lit, it's clear how this roundabout represents a threat to motorists. Provincial Road 91 is very busy, and for those coming from the new State Road 195, it's the only way to reach Macchiareddu . I hope a solution is found as soon as possible to limit the danger of that roundabout."
Efisio De Muru, leader of the Democratic Party, points the finger at the project, which has become a source of concern for drivers of heavy vehicles and other vehicles: "Let's put it this way: Anas isn't exactly lucky when it comes to carrying out construction work in our area. Just think of what's happening with the work at Su Loi. The roundabout leading to the new Sulcitana needs to be made safe. That road is too important, and the sheer volume of vehicles it carries every day makes it a very busy route."
Mayor Beniamino Garau promises the roundabout will be repaired in the coming months : "We have an agreement with ANAS. After the final stretch of the new State Road 195 toward Macchiareddu and the slip road that runs alongside the composting plant—used primarily by residents of Capoterra—are opened to traffic, the roundabout will be repaired. The challenges of that project are clear: on one side, there's a significant difference in elevation, which complicates maneuvering around curves. To allow for the work, the road won't be completely closed, but we're considering alternating traffic with traffic lights on both lanes."
