Two slogans inciting hatred against Muslims appeared at the entrance to the town, between the Serreli garage and Eurospin, and on Via Del Popolo, a few meters from the consortium, right near the homes of several Tunisian and Pakistani families.
It is difficult to trace those responsible for the two graffiti at this time, but the gesture has already outraged many citizens of Capoterra who are now calling for their removal .
Mayor Beniamino Garau recalls that there have never been any incidents of intolerance in the city towards the foreigners who have made Capoterra their home: " There are Muslim families who are perfectly integrated into our community , so I don't think those who defaced the walls are fully aware of what they've done. I think it was the stupid act of a few kids . In Capoterra—where many foreign citizens have lived for years and there are facilities that house refugees—there have never been any incidents of racism, but it's important to never let our guard down."
