Sardinia returns to the international wine scene with the third edition of Cannonau Likeness International, scheduled for November 4, 2025, at Sa Manifattura in Cagliari. The event was conceived by Davide Gangi, founder and CEO of Vinoway Italia, and organized in collaboration with Assoenologi Sardegna, represented by President Mariano Murru, and Accademia Internazionale Epulae, represented by President Angelo Concas, with the patronage of Sardegna Ricerche.
This edition marks a new and important step towards internationalization and cultural dialogue between regions: Spain will be the special guest, with a direct comparison between Cannonau and Garnacha, two grape varieties that share Mediterranean roots and an extraordinary ability to interpret territory and identity. The morning sessions will be dedicated to the presentation of the "Cannonau the Young Wine" project and the roundtable "Culture, Wine and Markets," a moment of discussion featuring industry experts, producers, wine communicators, and international guests. The debate will also offer space for Spanish guests, in an open and constructive dialogue on the cultural, production, and commercial dynamics that unite Mediterranean countries.
This edition's focus is the relationship between young people and wine, a theme that will run throughout the day, emphasizing the importance of a new cultural and communication approach toward new generations of consumers, producers, and ambassadors of the region. The afternoon program includes three exclusive, free masterclasses, led by winemakers, experts, and industry communicators, to explore Sardinia's iconic grape variety in its many expressions and compare it with Iberian excellence. "The Shades of Cannonau": a tasting exploring the diverse souls of the Sardinian grape through a selection of Cannonau wines chosen by Vinoway Italia, Assoenologi Sardegna, and the Accademia Internazionale Epulae. A sensory journey exploring the nuances, territories, and interpretations that make Cannonau unique in the Italian wine scene.
"Ogliastra, Land of Centenarians and Cannonau": a journey that unites science, terroir, and longevity. Ogliastra, the birthplace of some of Sardinia's most authentic and enduring wines, is an example of balance between humanity, environment, and tradition.
"Spanish Garnacha through the expressions of the Aragonese and Catalonian terroirs": a direct encounter with Spain's main wine-growing regions, where Garnacha expresses itself with elegance and personality. A tasting that brings together the heart of Sardinia and that of Mediterranean Spain. The masterclasses are free, but are accessible only by registering by filling out the form. Each session will accommodate a maximum of 40 participants, subject to availability.
With Spain as the guest nation, this third edition consolidates the project's mission: to promote Cannonau as a symbol of identity and a cultural bridge between the Mediterranean. For an entire day, Sa Manifattura will become the showcase for Sardinian wine around the world—with tastings, meetings, and opportunities for technical and cultural exchange. On November 4, 2025, Sardinian wine will raise its glass to celebrate the strength, elegance, and modernity of its most beloved grape. An unmissable event for those who believe in the value of the terroir, the culture of wine, and the encounter between peoples united by the Mediterranean.
