The mayor of Dorgali Angela Testone had the ticket box removed to pay the one euro disembarkation and environmental fee to access the Cala Luna beach.

The clash between the municipalities of Dorgali and Baunei over the management of limited numbers on the splendid beach is increasingly heated. When the administration of Dorgali installed the ticket office on a stretch claimed by Baunei, the reaction of the mayor of Baunei Stefano Monni was not long in coming.

This morning he sent a warning requesting the removal of the artefact , «also in order to avoid legitimate and dutiful clearing actions by the competent bodies» , he was keen to point out. A warning also sent to the regional councilors of Local Authorities and the Environment, who next week will try to mediate between the two mayors.

The first citizen of Dorgali, Angela Testone, decided to remove the box immediately afterwards: "I did it to avoid further tensions and restore a minimum spirit of collaboration" , she said.

The contingent management of Cala Luna is a problem that has been going on for years and which sees the two municipalities battle over the competences and decisions to be made to regulate attendance on the beach . The truce that seemed to exist after the meeting at the prefecture in Nuoro fell apart today, and tensions have once again skyrocketed. The only thing the mayors seem to agree on is the maximum number of swimmers on the beach, 900 .
